Making Nerd Events in Ontario easier to find and attend.
About
Nerdy Ontario is a passion project for Ontario Nerd Alicia.Â
Created after only learning about events through friends, or missing them all together, Alicia figured she'd do the work to find all nerdy events, and why not share her findings.
Â
She messaged a few friends about it, and everyone thought it was a great idea. Then people found her instagram and suddenly she had a listing of 100+ events. Clearly this was something people have been looking for.

That's Alicia at YetiCon 2026. Wearing an Aloy cosplay created by Caroline Krunchy
This was a prime example of Alicia only finding out about an event because of a friend.
The Logo was created by Ontario-born artist Kevin of Beer Is The Mind KillerÂ
It was important to Alicia to use real humans and specifically someone with an Ontario connection for this project. Kevin created this logo with just the direction of "I dunno, can you make it say Nerdy in the whale that is Ontario?" Turns out not everyone sees the map of Ontario as a whale, but he did manage to get it perfectly correct.Â
About Alicia:
Alicia's first nerdy passion is books. She worked for a major chain bookstore for 13 years, in stores and on their events team. To this day she loves attending book events, meeting authors and fellow readers. She has a Red Rising Podcast called Fade To Obsidian and assists in the moderation of discord server The Howlers Den and the Patreon for Lit Escalates.

She does however also enjoy attending Ren Faires, Comic Cons, and she hosts trivia nights with Hub of Trivia and Events.

You can find her streaming on Twitch as well as once had a Youtube channel to explore different places across Ontario.Â

Yes, she once made a full Iron Throne just to sit in for one trivia night.
Her cats names are Besta Times and The Artful Dodger. You can give them treats when she streams on twitch.Â
